Stereographs
Here are just some images that were originally photographed by the Japanese photographer T. Enami (1859-1929) who was a prolific photographer during the late 19th Century/Early 20th Century. Many of the photos show a Japan long gone, but he also shot many photographs as stereo graphs as seen below. I have animated them which adds a whole new atmosphere to the photos.

You can see the full set of T. Enami’s stereo views here..

“I have animated them which adds a whole new atmosphere to the photos”
No you didn’t. Give credit to the original author.
I did animate them – I got the idea from the original site, which now appears to be down. So I animated these ones from the original photographs. I’m planning on doing some more from other photographers as there appears to be quite a number of stereoviews online.
If you have any you’d like animating point me at them,
Jansen
Hi. I’m the original flickr poster of the T. ENAMI images that are now appearing on many blog and Websites sites as gif animations. There are now hundreds of them in many languages carrying these shots — all originating from my flickr set(s). Several (not all) of these blogs and Websites mistakenly state that I (Okinawa Soba) am the one that made the animations. Not true. I have never converted any of my own posted material. All of my posts are the “raw” image pairs as published 100 (or more) years ago. The gif 3-D conversions were all done by others — both fellow flickr members, and outside users. Since I have posted the originals as CC images, anyone is free to copy, use, manipulate, and animate to your hearts desire, and post them whereever you please. NO PERMISSION NEEDED — ALREADY GRANTED ! A couple of the animations posted above I have not seen on other sites. Nicely done. All flickr asks is that the source (that is, the flickr page or set where the original images used to make the gifs can be found) gets linked back to. This web page has done that, so no problem here at all. By the way, although I prefer looking at these views in a stereoscope, these “wiggle” gif conversions are often interesting to see. Keep up the good work, and have as much fun as you want with any of these old 3-D images posted in my various sets devoted to them : http://www.flickr.com/photos/24443965@N08/collections/72157613883340640/
Dear Okinawa,
Thank you for your kind endorsements and for initially uploading T. Enami’s evocative collection of photographs.
If you would like the “wiggle” effect created on any particular image(s) that you have not seen – point me to them and I will make it happen.
