Roger Waters – The Wall 2010?

UPDATE: It’s happening!!  More info here..

There has been some noise from the Floyd Machine over the past week. In today’s publication of an interview with Roger Waters in MOJO magazine, speculation of him touring The Wall will start/has started to spread like wildfire.

With Roger saying things in the interview like “We are doing the sums for a full scale tour,”  I think it is safe to say something is afoot. Your guess is as good as mine as to which musicians crew it this time. I’d be happy with the band he took out to do the Darkside of the moon tour a couple of years ago, but then you never know..

It was 30 years ago that the Wall was released and it is 19 years since he has ever performed it – the last time being when the Berlin Wall came down. Prior to that Pink Floyd last performed the Wall in 1981.

Keep your ear to the ground and your credit card at hand because when these tickets go on sale you’d be lucky if you have a 15 minute window…

He also mentions finding some of the original footage from the 80-81 tour, which is being edited down so we may even have a new DVD to look forward to.

For more info, check out this month’s MOJO (December 09)

…and for those who can’t contain themselves..

This is very good news for floyd heads like me. I saw Roger on his last two tours in S.FL.
His shows are the best.

Now that would be awesome – in 5.1 surround sound :)

You know, the whole concert from 1979 is on Youtube, the video quality just isn’t up to the mark.

Perhaps now, with the video tweaking technology available, it can be restored. That would be an awesome DVD
