It is with great pleasure that I can confirm Roger Waters is taking The Wall out on tour this year and the dates will be announced on 12th April 2010 2pm EST.
There’s still no word about which venues or countries the tour will take in but if you are serious about acquiring tickets, be sure to have your preferred method of payment handy as I expect this is going to sell out quick.
There has been some noise from the Floyd Machine over the past week. In today’s publication of an interview with Roger Waters in MOJO magazine, speculation of him touring The Wall will start/has started to spread like wildfire.
With Roger saying things in the interview like “We are doing the sums for a full scale tour,” I think it is safe to say something is afoot. Your guess is as good as mine as to which musicians crew it this time. I’d be happy with the band he took out to do the Darkside of the moon tour a couple of years ago, but then you never know..
It was 30 years ago that the Wall was released and it is 19 years since he has ever performed it – the last time being when the Berlin Wall came down. Prior to that Pink Floyd last performed the Wall in 1981.
Keep your ear to the ground and your credit card at hand because when these tickets go on sale you’d be lucky if you have a 15 minute window…
He also mentions finding some of the original footage from the 80-81 tour, which is being edited down so we may even have a new DVD to look forward to.

It will be 40 years since man first walked on the moon on the 20th July this year. As the astonauts were taking their giant steps for man, in a small TV studio in London, four guys were jamming along to the video being beamed back from the moon and here it is.. Moonhead by Pink Floyd
